Oklahoma medical cannabis industry
Oklahoma is home to one of the country’s most bustling medical cannabis marketplaces. In 2018, Oklahoma voters approved medical cannabis legalization with a particularly progressive program. Oklahoma regulators ultimately toned down some of the program’s language but registered patients can still possess up to three ounces of medical cannabis and grow up to twelve plants (including up to six mature/flowering plants and six seedlings).
Oklahoma legalization efforts
Activists have coordinated multiple attempts for putting a cannabis legalization ballot initiative before voters but have so far been unsuccessful. The state is, however, home to thousands of acres of industrial hemp crops.
