What does "Decarboxylate" mean?

Definition: Decarboxylation of marijuana involves exposure of the cannabinoids to extremely hot temperatures (like smoking), thus removing the acidic component of the compound and converting it into a more desired cannabinoid. Acidic compounds such as THCA and CBDA are transformed into THC and CBD respectively. Once cannabis decarboxylated, it can be used in edibles or tinctures.
